SDA Family
When it comes to basketball, we can be all business. We expect commitment from our athletes. Players are expected to attend all practices and all events, with very few exceptions. Teams depend on every player on the team! We'll expect a lot from your player and will push him to become the best he can be.
That said, our players love the SDA family! The SDA experience creates strong team mates, strong friendships and strong character. Our players, who come from every corner of San Diego county, have an opportunity to become part of a larger community with a common goal. The players keep up with other SDA team mates throughout the year on Facebook and it is very common to hear our players say that they "can't wait" to rejoin their SDA team, to play, practice, work hard, travel and win with their SDA family.

This website was first developed in January 2009. At the time, we wanted a photographic header that would capture the passion and intensity of our most promising players. Coach Marshawn Cherry, our Athletic Director, selected six SDA players whom he thought were hard working, dedicated athletes, capable of playing basketball at the next level. We're proud to say he was proven right: Left to Right: James McCann (UCSD), David Travers (Georgia State), Kalob Hatcher (Irvine Valley College), Jvonte Brooks (Dartmouth College), Jesse Neugarten (Oberlin University), Norman Powell (UCLA).
